There are two campground in Taroko National Park, Heliu Campground is recommended by many tourists. It has water, and lighting and 12 wooden platform tent spaces, toilets (with cold water showers), and washstands. You may hear sounds from river, bugs, wild animals, trees, and see full stars of sky, feel breeze and fresh smells. It costs NT300 per wooden platform, but definitely worth it. Super comfortable. 😊 Lushui campground is another one, less people know about it. It has water and lighting, camp on grass, reachable restroom near. It's a natural and comfortable place as well, free charge. ＊Campground information: https://www.taroko.gov.tw/en/Tourism/Camping ＊Gear advice: 2~3 person tent. If you set up your tent on wooden platform in Heliu campground, you don't have to put the tent cloth under your tent. If you camp in Lushui campground, tent cloth is necessary. Sleeping bag. If the weather is not super cold, the fleece fabric is enough for most of people, because that both of two campgrounds are not in high elevation. Sleeping pad, carried pillow, camp stove, cooking utensils and tableware.
＊How to be there? Rent a motorcycle. You will find many rental stores near Hualien train station. Call a cab.
